SK Walmers kicked off their WP Super League A campaign with a resounding victory over the Junior Maties by winning 44 – 15 at Brookeside. This was supposed to be a home game (Green Point Track) for the Bo Kaap team but due to International Soccer (U20) at the new Cape Town Stadium the game was moved to Brookeside. This however did not deter the SKW outfit from recording a memorable win over the Stellenbosch Students. Kloof scored 5 tries against the 2 from Victorians. The team’s Head Coach, Labeeb Levy was happy with his team’s performance on the day and he did not single out any players but said it was a good team effort. The Frontrow contained the heavier pack of Victorians which set the platform for the backs to run in those five tries. Kloof’s Zimbabwean fullback, Tangai Nemadire and wing Cleopas Makatose both scored 2 tries which set the platform for a great victory. Ignatius Prinsloo, the SKW flyhalf was on song with the boot and scored 24 points which included a try.
